Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Each volume of the ART & ARCHITECTURE series is opulently illustrated. The highly readable texts give you concentrated information on accessing well and lesser known sites in the world of art. An image of every piece of art that is described is included, allowing readers to easily recognize the original on site. Insets on cultural-historical topics and illustrated glossaries, summaries, and timelines supplement the body text - leaving a deeper, more lasting impression of the material that is covered. Convenient compact format makes these books particularly handy to take along as a guide while viewing the great works featured within.

Customer Reviews: Great Book for Traveling Around and Learning About Rome December 8, 2008 Sacerdos Atque Discipulus (Rome, Italy) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I really like this book. It has lots of nice pictures as well as facts and information about different historically important works and places in Rome. It is a small book (I wish it was soft cover though) that easily fits in your backpack if you are walking around the city and want to read up on places as you visit them. Or if you are planning a trip to Rome, it is a useful book to map out an itinerary of places you would like to visit and art you would like to see. I have learned a great deal from this little book and I highly recommend it.
One of the better general introductions I've ever read. May 18, 2008 Paul D. Harvill 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
One of the better general introductions I've ever read.
That sums it up.
