Product Description Italy is an historical country, where the past is always present. This is well illustrated in the rural interior style, which borrows and adapts from other eras and places, editing and refining as it goes, but culminating in a look that is chic, original, and always easy to live with. In Italian Country Living, Caroline Clifton-Mogg explores the essential ingredients of the style, taking in color and texture—the distinctively clear but subtle palette — before looking at the mixture of simplicity and comfort evident in furniture and fabrics, and going on to admire the innate gift of the Italians for living outside with the same panache as they do indoors. Caroline then looks in more detail at individual country houses. Whether Rustic, Contemporary, Eclectic, or Traditional in character, these homes offer myriad ideas for interior decoration that are easily translatable into other lives and cultures. • Stunning photography by Chris Tubbs.

That's what you will want to do after closing and putting down "Italian Country Living" by Caroline Clifton-Mogg.
Homes rustic and eclectic, contemporary and traditional - they are all so down-to-earth and so charming, breathtakingly beautiful.

DREAMY December 22, 2008 AESTHETE (Los Angeles) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this book when it first came out and have probably looked through it over a hundred times since then. It's a perfect blend of what is modern and traditional in Italian country interiors and I would be happy to live in any of these rooms. I love this book.

Intersting homes are featured in this book with some unpredictable decorating. It has great photography of the homes as well as fantastic views on some of the featured properties. I also recommend French Country Living by the same author.

Italian Country Living TRAVEL WITH THE AUTHORESS INTO THE LAND OF GENTLE, CULTURED PEOPLE OF ITALY. THIS BOOK IS VERY NICELY ILLUSTRATED IN LARGE PICTURES AND SELECT COMMENTS. I ENJOYED THE JOURNEY AND WILL TRAVEL WITHIN ITS RICH PAGES AGAIN SOON.

The seller says I will receive a credit, and allowed me to return the book. It is a nice book, not exceptional; good addition to references.
